Last updated: 7 October 2026. This covers the Lessismo app for Android (package app.lessismo.app) and for iPhone.
The short version
Everything the app knows stays on your phone. There are no accounts, no sync, no ads, no analytics and no servers. The Android app does not have internet permission, so it could not send your data anywhere even by mistake. The iPhone app makes no network requests of its own.
What the app stores
- Your goals, check-ins, stamps, challenges and settings, in a database on your phone.
- Three small settings for asking for a rating: the first day you opened the app, the day it last asked, and how often it asked.
- A daily total of time spent in the apps you choose for a Screen limit goal, and the hour-by-hour pattern shown in "When you use your phone".
You can delete all of it by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
What the app reads, and why
- Usage access (app usage stats): to count minutes in the apps you picked, show your most used apps and hour graph, and suggest apps to clean up. It is read on the phone and never shared.
- Display over other apps and a background service: to notice which app you opened (from the same usage stats) and show the pause screen on top of it. The app does not read screen content, what you type, or anything inside other apps.
- Health Connect steps (optional): only your daily step count, to fill in a Steps goal. The app does not write to Health Connect. You can take the access back at any time in Health Connect.
- The list of installed apps: to let you pick apps for limits and to find unused apps in Clean up.
- Google Play's rating dialog: after you have kept a few days, a card in the app offers a rating. If you tap Rate, the app asks Google Play to show its own rating dialog (at most twice in all). Google Play runs that dialog and decides whether it appears; the app sends it nothing and does not learn what you answer.
- Notifications: for the evening check-in and reminders you set.
- Do Not Disturb access (optional): to silence notifications during dumb phone mode.
- Permission to ask Android to uninstall apps: Clean up opens Android's own uninstall prompt. Android always asks you to confirm.
On iPhone
The iPhone app keeps the same things on the phone, in its own storage and a small shared folder for its Screen Time extensions, and deletes them when you delete the app. It reads:
- Screen Time access (Family Controls): to count minutes in the apps you picked, show the shield when a limit is reached and run dumb phone mode. Apple gives the app only opaque tokens for the apps you pick, not their names or what you do in them, and the minutes are measured on the phone by iOS.
- Apple Health steps (optional): only your daily step count, to fill in a Steps goal. The app does not write to Health. You can take the access back at any time in Settings.
- Notifications: for the evening check-in and the plan reminders you set.
- Apple's rating dialog: after you have kept a few days, a card in the app offers a rating. If you tap Rate, the app asks iOS to show its own rating dialog. Apple runs that dialog and decides whether it appears; the app sends it nothing and does not learn what you answer.
- Shortcuts (optional): the "Pause before opening" action you can add to an automation runs on the phone and sends nothing anywhere.
